Skagit River - April 17th, 2009
RECORDED:    59 °   FISHING: Great
The Skagit and Sauk rivers have been fishing great. Swining flies on type 3 and 6 sink tips with larger patterns has been the ticket. The skagit has still been low and clear, but they have been releasing water again on a daily basis = brings more fish in. The easterday rains brought the Sauk up and fish in. With the warm temps comming the Sauk should going up again.

The Skykomish is in great shape!! 2,400cfs 3+feet vis and 38-39 degree water temps. Winter natives are starting to show up. Low and slow with type 4and 6 tips is the name of the game right now. Theres still some hatchery fish being caught arond Reiter and on the Wallace river. So get out there and catch some Steelhead.

Skykomish River - November 28th, 2008
RECORDED:    54 °   FISHING: Fair
Well T-day is over and that means its time for hatchery brats. The last high water brought some in and reports from Reiter has been fair. Fish are being caught every day, not in great #s yet. Water temps dictate sinktips down at their level. Every rise in water should bring in new fish and we should see better fishing as December moves on.

Well with the Skykomish blowing out, its time to tye some flies. Once the river dropes, fishing should bee RED HOT!!! Swinging ESL's on light sink tips hase been working good and a dead drift presentation with hot pink or chartruse flies works great as well for the Chums. There has been a few winter steelie's caught already and this flood should bring even more!!!  So watch the flows and get out there once its down around 5,000cfs.

Steelhead are still moving in and conditions are prime right now! After losing some fish lately, i finaly landed my first steelhead on a skated fly for the season!! Sea run cutts have started to show in the lower river, and provide fantastic streamer and dry fly action on lighter rods!!
